If you are going to make a square block quilt, get out some graph paper and start designing away. Cut squares according to how big the quilt is going to be, but allow about 1/4″ inch on each edge for sewing. Once you have all the squares cut, then row by row, gather up the squares in order, start sewing with a 1/4″ seam…sew strips, then number each strip as to where it goes on the pattern…keep them in order … once all the strips are sewn, then sew the strips together, matching all square corners. Now, you are ready to quilt away. Have a ball.
